Home App not recognizing that my phone is setup in iCloud settings to be the device used for my location.

Trying to create automation to play music on HomePod triggered by when I leave. Can’t enable until I set my 6s phone as my location in iCloud settings. It is set as the source for my location in iCloud settings. I turned off Find my phone and turned off share my location. Checked with Find My on Mac and the phone was not in device list. Turned on find my phone and reenabled share my location. Rechecked in Find My on Mac. Phone showed in Devices list. Created new automation in Home app duplicating the above and got the same result. Not recognizing that my phone is setup in iCloud settings to be the device used for my location. What else can I do?

You can Reset HomePod -then set it up again using your iPhone.

Note: the HomePod will not cooperate if there’s any issues with wifi or if your phone is in airplane mode. Make sure Bluetooth is on and both are on the same wifi network, keychain is turned on and location service turned on in both devices.

HomePods reset, running 13.4.8

iPhone 6s iOS 13.6

iCloud Keychain on

Two-factor authentication on

Bluetooth on

Both devices on same WiFi network

Signed in to iCloud with my Apple ID

Location service on on HomePods and iPhone

Created new automation triggered by my arrival Home.

Message: "This automation will not run until you set up the device used to determine your location in iCloud settings."

6s iPhone is setup as the device to determine my location. Done and re-done.

Automation still can't be enabled.

Any other thoughts?
