Text Notification Issue

Lately when I text my wife the sound for the incoming text on her phone does not function. If she texts me all works fine. When she does see my text, before opening it there is a symbol that looks like a quarter moon to the left of my name. We have checked all of her settings and can't find any conditions that might trigger this. All of her other texts from others trigger the announcement sound.

Does anyone know what this is and how to fix the problem and keep the symbol from appearing?

Thank you
