If you buy a movie title from the iTunes Store, then you can watch it as many times as you want, as long as you have the Apple ID account. You can download the movie to you archive, or stream it as long as it is available in the Store.

What do you mean? Renting a movie title has nothing to do with watching channels. Renting a movie title gives you temporary access to that movie, and nothing else.

What is your model TV? Only select newer models TVs from selected manufacturers (Samsung and LG at this time; Sony and Vizio later) do support the Apple TV app. Other TVs will need to have a streaming device that can support the Apple TV app (e.g. Apple TV set-top box, Roku, or Fire TV). You can’t buy the same title twice on the same Apple ID account. It would then tell you that the title is already purchased. Renting is different, as the rental period expires after 48 hours.
