How do I move a table from one sheet to another?

Try Cut and Paste. Here is a table named "Data" that is referenced by Table 2.

You do not say what formulas you are using, so I am using SUMIF as an example.

The formulas in Table 2 reference the Data table.

Formula in B2 of Table 2 (and filled down) =SUMIF(Data::A,$A2,Data::B)

Click on the "Data" table, click on the "bullseye" top left and Menu > Edit > Cut (command X).

Insert a new Sheet and delete the default table.

Paste.

Here is Sheet 1

The formulas automatically adjust.

I don't think it's going to be possible. It would be a good idea to suggest this as a feature as it does make sense that somebody might want to move a table while maintaining references to its cells. I looked to see if it's possible to do a find and replace to change the cell references, and that doesn't seem to be possible. You'd need to copy the table to the other sheet and then manually adjust the formulas to reference to the new table.

Brilliant post. I'm kicking myself for not thinking the obvious. It makes sense that formulas wouldn't be updated when copying a table and that cutting and pasting would instead cause formulas to be updated. Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response.
