WHY CAN'T BATTERY PERCENTAGE BE SHOWN ON HOME SCREEN OF IPHONE 11

On older versions of Iphone, you had the option of seeing battery percentage in the top corner of the home screen. The option to do that was in settings/battery. On Iphone 11 it seems that option is not available? Now the battery life status at top right corner of home screen is just the black sliding bar and one must swipe down from there to see the actual percentage. Not a big deal, but just wondering if this option was just eliminated on higher iterations of Iphone, or am I just not aware of how to show the % on the home screen?
