what is this updating I do not want to move from Mojave to Catalina and that appears to be the only update I have not taken

I am trying to connect my 6s iphone to my MacAir I am on Mojave 10.14.6

When I connect my phone (having batt issues to back it up) Mac says I need to update software

Everything san the jump to Catalina has been done

I the pop up software suggestion something else?

It makes not statement about what they are downloading only says required...

iPhone 6s, iOS 13

Are you certain that the reference to updating software is not to iOS 13.5.1 on the 6S, and nothing to do with the optional update to Catalina from Mojave?

I am not certain what it is referring to and that is the point of my concern since it is not stated anywhere

however my phone was updated to 13.5.1 which seems to have made the issue worse vs. better.
