iPhone software update stuck on Install Now

In case anyone from Apple is watching, this bug still happens... I was transferring from a fully updated iPhone 8 to an iPhone 12 mini, and hit this updating in progress stall. Does anyone know if it happens when you choose an iCloud sync vs. a transfer update? Maybe it is always one or the other? It was a transfer that caused the crash for me.

I had the same issue when setting up a new iPhone 12 and copying data and settings from my existing iPhone at the same time. Satayed in install now for about an hour.

to solve the problem I connectet my new iphone to my pc by a cable and run iTunes and downloaded the last OS version and installed it.

then I started setting up by syncing my old iPhone.

This was of literally no help Axel. He is not asking for the requirements.

That is exactly my issue. I guess I'll just set up the iPhone 11 as a new device.

After erasing, how do you sync your old iPhone content?

Thanks very much for this - but I lost patience and have just been reinstalling apps manually. At least it's made me cull the apps I wasn't using!

Yes transfer from old phone gets stuck at install now.... which I cannot press. Onward to manual setup as discussed.

Can't seem to edit my post. Set up as new phone, download the software, then erase, then transfer seemed to work. Pretty buggy bs for a brand new >$1,000 phone!

I setup as a new iPhone, did the upgrade, then wiped the phone and then did the restore.
