Connecting Mac Mini (2012) to a monitor and drawing tablet (Huion Kamvas 13)

I have a Mac Mini from Late 2012. It has the latest updates. I'm trying to connect my Huion Kamvas 13 drawing screen as well as my regular monitor to the Mac Mini. Both drawing tablet and monitor require the HDMI port but I only have one HDMI port on the computer.

Can I use a regular USB-A to HDMI converter to connect the second device?

Since it's a Late 2012 model I don't have the USB-C port on my Mini so I need to look at alternatives.

For two HDMI displays, you need to use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter in the Mac Mini’s Thunderbolt 2 port.
