Problem with WD My Passport

I am using a WD My Passport external drive. It mounts and works perfectley but all of a sudden the content disapear. I can see the icon in finder and I can open access the drive but no content can be seen. The problem is solved by restarting the computer or force the drive to eject, disconnect it and then re-connect.

WD MY Passport for Mac not mounting after 13.4. 1 update I've had this happen to me in the past with Western Digital products and wondering whether there is a fix. My WD My Passport for Mac won't mount onto the desktop and I cannot back up my data. The external hard drive hasn't been able to mount since an update last week. When I updated the macOS a (13.4.1) a few days ago I thought this would solve the problem. It hasn't. I have used Disk Utility and ran a check, but that hasn't worked. I have used the WD Drive Utilities and ran diagnostics that has failed to mount the HD as well. Any ideas?

My Passport External Disk Error 49153 My Passport external drive will not mount on my new MacBook Pro. It will not mount even when opening it in disk utility. This is the message I get: Could not mount “My Passport”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153.) Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I have thousands of picture files that I cannot open.

My Passport Drives not working on brand new comp I have recently bought a brand 2 new Macbook Pro 14in and its running Monterey. I also bought a brand new external drive (WD My Passport- which is suppoed to be compatable with macs) as well as have my old external drive (WD My Passport) that has been working on my old mackbook 15in and my even older iMac for years. No matter what I do I can not get ANY exernal drive to mount on any of my new Macbooks running Monterey. 1) I have downloaded the WD discovery and utility which is the program that has helped my older macbook and imac mount the drives. Neither are working on the new ones. 2) I have looked in disk utility and I can see the drives but I cannot mount them. When i try it tells me "Could not mount my passport . (com.apple.diskmanagement.disenter error 49153." 3) I have run diagnoistics on the older drive and everything came back fine. It also still works on older devices. 4) The other drive is brand new and nothing is working for that one to mount as well. Not sure what to do as the internet isnt helping solve the problem. Wondering if this is an issue with Monterey since the older coms are not running that OS and are working fine...

I suggest first checking your connections to be sure that they are solid. Then I would run Disk Utility first aid on that disk. If it sees any problems, it will so report. You don't say how old the disk is. It may be starting to fail. If so, Disk Utility should see that, I believe. Good luck.
