Problem with WD My Passport

Hi

I am using a WD My Passport external drive. It mounts and works perfectley but all of a sudden the content disapear. I can see the icon in finder and I can open access the drive but no content can be seen. The problem is solved by restarting the computer or force the drive to eject, disconnect it and then re-connect.

I suggest first checking your connections to be sure that they are solid. Then I would run Disk Utility first aid on that disk. If it sees any problems, it will so report. You don't say how old the disk is. It may be starting to fail. If so, Disk Utility should see that, I believe. Good luck.
