Cannot connect to Canon MX452 printer after upgrading to Mac OS Catalina

I cannot connect to my Canon printer after upgrading to mac OS Catalina.


It gives the error:


Unable to connect to ‘Canon MX450 series._ipp._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?


I have tried removing the printer plug, restarting it, restarting my computer but to no avail. My iPhone connects perfectly with the printer so I am guessing it has got something to do with my mac's software update.


Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe I can help you, harshal2801. This printer works with High Sierra and Mojave but NOT catalina. you can try doing a reset of the printing system. Go to system preferences, then Printers and scanners, and control-click on the sidebar that lists your printers, then click on "reset printing system" then confirm you want to do so. Other than that, GutenPrint, maybe.
