changing apple IDs on an iPhone

I just created a new apple ID for my daughter on her new MacBook Air. I now want to change the apple ID on her iphone, which currently uses my ID. How do I make sure she doesn't lose all the photos and contacts currently on her phone?

When changing to the new ID, there may be some data loss, but you can minimize it. If syncing photos with iCloud, ensure Optimization is turned off in Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and/or in Photos/Preferences/iCloud. Then make sure full resolution photos are on the device/computer. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes. Messages conversations will be lost if they are addressed to the ID. See the article below for other places that the old ID should be removed. See Winston Churchill's response in the below discussion. Also set up Family Sharing to keep access to your apps/purchases.

Thanks. I'm not concerned with the need to share purchases. But are you saying we can't sign out of my ID on her phone, then sign back in with her new ID? How would this "change my Apple ID too"?

I should add...her phone is currently not synced to my iCloud (we turned that off when she got it), so she has none of my photos or contacts on her phone.
