Why does homekit say accessory already added when it isn't

So I bought a LIFX rgb light bulb and had it connected to my phone and it was working well. I wanted to reset it and connect it to a different wifi network but after removing the accessory and even resetting it manually, whenever I scan the code to add the accessory it just says accessory already added. Even though it says this, it does not show up anywhere else. So basically i've got an accessory that I cannot add or find. Please help.
