If you are running MacOS beyond 10.6.5 (where the Drivers first appeared) , you can run any of the graphics cards that shipped in the 2009 and 2010 models. The Apple-firmware AMD 5770 is pretty good for general use, and only requires one aux cable.

Take a screen shot & view that in Preview, move the Preview window around, if you see double lines it's a Video card/VRAM problem, if the lines do not move moving the pic around then it's the LCD or cable.

I tried what you did , thank you the lines don't move, the cable in t he back on my computer was a little lose lol. however I still think i should upgrade my graphic card is to old to running photoshop on it. Im on a photographer and some things dont work on it. thank you :)
That well-behaved screen shows either normal MacOS starting up, or If the progress bar is stalled, directory or file problems on the boot drive.
Looks like you traded graphic card problems for disk problems. I suggest you boot to recovery and run disk_repair/First_Aid.

Yeah, a graphic card can help, but sounds like a new monitor is in order.
