iPad Pro 9.7” Smart Keyboard not responding/working.

[Long read/vent ahead, need to get frustrations out:]


I’ve had my iPad 9.7” for a few years now and my ex is the one that purchased it for me as a Christmas gift along with the Smart Keyboard. I know he spent a crap ton of money on it and said it was covered under warranty. I fell in love with the iPad itself but not the keyboard.


I disliked How it felt on my lap, it was rather flimsy and not responsive like I prefer. Not even a month later I ordered a keyboard that mimicked a laptop. It was great minus the keys freezing up constantly, adding extra spaces and letters as though I was holding the key down. Getting fed up I came back to this “Smart Keyboard” .... I thought for $199 it would be GREAT at what it’s designed for.....


....I was wrong.


I’ll unlock my iPad, do some typing, the keyboard will work, I’ll lock it, go to unlock and try to type AND IT WONT WORK. This happens every 2-3 times of use.


I’ve tried removing the iPad from the magnetic portion, wiping it down on both products. I’ve removed the iPad, put it back on the Smart Keyboard, removed it, docked it, remove, dock, rinse and repeat without luck. I’ve tried airplane mode without luck. My software is up to date. The ONLY way I can get it to work again is by turning it off and restarting. This is frustrating when I’m in the middle of typing and cant finish due to keyboard malfunction. This isn’t right. $199 for a POS device. That’s absurd.
