iPhone SE 2020 randomly shuts off

My iPhone SE 2020 recently randomly shuts off for two times. My OS is updated and there is no physical damage. I wander if anyone has the same problem and what could be the reason.

iPhone SE, iOS 13

I am getting the same issue . When battery is below 50%, it goes black giving no feedbacks. When I press and hold start button the logo comes and It shut down. If I try to start, it will show plug to power display. When I connect charger it starts again and battery is as same as before . I’m like WTH now

Same issue here. Seemingly random shut offs. Not able to immediately hard reset (vol Up, vol Dwn, hold side button until apple appears). No damage. No prior issues. About a year old. Works fine until the next random shutdown. So far, 4X already today. Performed a couple of hard reboots. Didn't fix the issue. Max battery capacity at 94%. Curious to know if anyone tried a reinstall.

Before I got mine replaced, I tried various things. Also wiping the iphone completely and setup as a brand new one, without getting my backup restored. I even installed app on a need basis latter in time. Only enabled the option to get my photos from icloud.... Still same issues. Then I reinstalled the device via DFU ( so firmware completely from scratch ) . Same issue

But you say I year old ? Wasn't the se 2020 released around april ?

I suggest to get it picked up for repairs and register an official case.( it will be sent to apples repair centre ) . And yes probably you need to go through this 3 times ( I got my previous se 2020 back after 3d mostly without a letter they didn't found anything wrong ) ... After the1st repair, kindly ask for a senior apple advisor.. This will fasten things.... So after the 3rd same diagnostic behaviour ( nothing ) .. I spoke to my senior apple advisor again... And finally he agreed to replace it. No issues anymore ...

Notice: Another iPhone 2020 SE owner reporting in with this issue. Mine shuts off around 20% pretty consistently. I've reviewed the Analytics Data and found "LowBatteryLog" reports which indicate a voltage "droop". Before this issue I suspected the battery was underperforming due to short life and rapid depletion under load. This is clearly a case of detective batteries either chemically or the onboard controller. I would encourage everyone to raise the issue with apple so they notice us. Make sure you turn on the "Share Analytics Data" so they automatically see your bug reports..

If Apple wants to maintain their reputation of world-class quality they should get ahead of this and start issuing recalls immediately.

The easiest thing to do is to call Apple on the phone take however long it takes to describe the problem to them. They know what it is though and at the end of the conversation they will tell you to make an appointment to get at the Apple store.

Personally I just shipped them my phone and had them ship the phone back and used a different phone in the meantime.

The phone I got back was a new replacement.

I have the new IPhone SE and it has done this to me twice as well. Both times, my battery was half way charged, so I know it wasn’t due to low battery. The first time it happened, I contacted apple online and they had me do a hard restart. First, plug the charger into your phone. Then, fast press the up volume button once, followed by the down volume button. Then hold the power button until it turns on (it usually takes about 10 seconds). The first time my phone shut down, they told me it could be an IOS bug and to update my phone. I updated my phone, but it happened to me again just yesterday (about 2 weeks after the first time). Doing a hard restart has helped it turn on both times.

My phone was shutting down once a day I went to the apple store, they looked at the history and ordered me a new phone which I picked up yesterday. As a side note it didn’t shut down for 6 days after I went to the apple store but then the night before I went it did and the battery drained down to 14% even though it had been plugged in for several hours. So I took the new phone and so far so good.

Exactly the same problem and this is today 11th March 2021. I have installed the latest update 14.4.1 with the hope that this issue will be resolved but this issue is persistent. I tried everything that was recommended from rebooting to restoring my phone using iTunes yet no respite from this problem. I also took this phone to a service center but was told no issues found. I presume this is like a pandemic for iPhone se 2020 and Apple must take this issue seriously. This cannot be ignored as a one off problem.
