iPhone SE 2020 randomly shuts off

My iPhone SE 2020 recently randomly shuts off for two times. My OS is updated and there is no physical damage. I wander if anyone has the same problem and what could be the reason.

iPhone SE, iOS 13

I am getting the same issue . When battery is below 50%, it goes black giving no feedbacks. When I press and hold start button the logo comes and It shut down. If I try to start, it will show plug to power display. When I connect charger it starts again and battery is as same as before . I’m like WTH now

I still believe it has something to do with either the brand(build) of the charger, the charging cable(s), or the electrical current going to the SE 2020:

Obviously, it’s supposed to support any charger or cable as long as it’s MFi certified. But for me, the random shutdowns and the popping “static” sounds from the speakers only occur when charging with my Belkin or ANKER cables(yes, I bought them directly from the manufacturers so I know they are genuine).

Another factor might be fast-charging: I don’t own an Apple branded fast charger or Apple branded usb-c to lightning cable so I can’t test this out. But the random shutdowns do occur sometimes when charging with my ANKER 18W charger.

Well I’ve been running now shutdown free for a week and have used , beside my original cable, a belkin , a wireless charger pad , an ikea cable, a fastcharge ( no data ) cable and a very cheap cable from the hobby shop :-)

Perhaps they did something at the apple repair shop in CZ... dunno.. there was a note they ran diagnostics test, updated internal soft ( but it already had the latest ios update )...

perhaps sent them once more to the repair centre ??? It was free for me anyway.

My iPhone SE 2020will have full battery and shut off. I then do a hard restart (Volume up-Volume down + home) and resuscitate sometimes for hours until it turns back on. I use an called GoSpotCheck for my job and it was causing the crash. I deleted the app and my phone still crashes. I went into apple and did a system reset and it turned off again! I'm scheduled to get a new replacement but honestly I've lost trust in this phone. My 7 was better.

Yes PLUS same is happening with Vibrate buttons turning off green. Matter of fact happening more than before on a daily basis. I had phone in my hand watching carefully for important call. All of a sudden the red dot appeared that I had missed a call. Luckily was that instant so was able to call back immediately but still embarrassed. Can’t wait to return to Apple store. My daughter has same phone SE 2029 not one problem. I got mine Sept one month after her

I have been experiencing this problem for about a week. I have been on the Apple Chat twice to try and fixt it to no avail and now have a Genius Bar appointment scheduled one week out. My phone randomly shuts down with with a full charge, and then it will not come back on for several hours and many attempts at volume up/volume down, start button. I am going to ask for a replacement phone and am considering a different model other than the SE 2020.

This problem has nothing to do with the charging cable. I have been using the charging cable that came with the phone since the day I got it. It is a hardware problem for which Apple has no solution.

Same thing with phone less than 1 month old. Took to Verizon store and they mailed me a new one overnight while I still kept my old one. Sure enough arrived the next day, took back to Verizon to get data transferred and mailed back old one after they deleted everything off of it - in same box with mailing label.. All very easy. So far no sound going off. Yay

Still struggling with Apple Support. Senior advisor didn't respond anymore, so asked for a new 'senior' Advisor

The prev. advisor promised me a new SE... NOPE . Now my device has been sent over to CZ repair centre for the 3rd time, and they did not find any issue.. ( in total the device has been to a repair centre for 4 times, 3 x apple repair, 1 official auth dealer )

I'm a the end of my possibilities here.. hopefully the advisor gives me some positive feedback...

That’s sort of what happened to me except I went through a third party Apple approved repair shop.

I ended up looking like a fool because they couldn’t find a thing and said the device is in perfect condition.

And that’s really the biggest issue here: These bugs only appear sporadically and only under certain circumstances, with certain chargers and certain charging patterns.

A lot of people will be “lucky” to have these things occur while their SE2 is in for repair while others will be rejected because the bugs are randomly not occurring while the device is being tested.

I also spent lots of time on phone with rep. I decided to go to the Verizon store and they immediately put in for a phone iphone SE delivered overnight express. I took both phones back to store and they transferred data. The sound worked fine while I was in the store and even that entire night but the next day - same thing sound went off. I did find however - instead of moving the button to the right for sound I pressed the home button and pressed Settings and right before my eyes the button moved to the right. I also have a problem in that the text message notice in the red circle states I have 4 messages but I do not. I can not get rid of the number 4. When I get a message it says 5. I turned off iphone but it still appears. Spoke on phone to Apple rep who said they know about the problem and are working very hard on a fix and be sure to update as soon as it appears to do so. So I will wait patiently. I am wondering if I sign up for the Apple Care program (phone is only 1 month old) is there a better chance of success than just relying on the warranty??

I just bought SE 2020 a few weeks or a month ago. I experienced this sudden shutting dow just now. My battery was at 76% when that happened. And it won’t boot up again unless I charge it. This is my first time experiencing it and I hope it won’t happen. It’s a hassle. I hope they would address this emerging issue asap.

Open a case at apple. Let them sent you ups package to sent to apple repair centre...

but they need to try 3 times apparently to involve the last step —— exchange

i finally got after 3 times repair centre a brand new one with all the accessories.. i did sent in the faulty one first without accessories

you can however also i guess guarantee the new iphone via creditcard and sent in the faulty one after you receive the new one..

if you sent in the faulty one; nothing will be credited

good luck
