iMovie shutting down when adding songs
I can’t figure out why my iMovie 11 shuts down every time I try to add music from iTunes 12.6.2.20
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.12

iMovie '11 is iMovie version 9. Is that the version you are running?
If so, iMovie 9 is not fully functional on operating systems from El Capitan forward. That might be the
cause of the problem.
Try booting up in Safe Mode (see Finder help menu for instructions). After everything loads immediately shut down and reboot in normal mode. Sometimes that will clear out conflicts that cause issues like you are experiencing.
The best solution would be for you to upgrade your software to iMovie 10. Or, if you already have iMovie 10 on your computer, try updating your iMovie 9 projects and events from within iMovie 10. Then you can edit your iMovie 9 projects in iMovie 10.
