Canon MX320 Printer Connectivity to Catalina 10.15.5

I have an older Canon MX320 printer with no air capabilities connected to a Macbook Pro running Catalina 10.15.5 using a USB A to USB C adapter.

The Canon website states that there are no drivers available and that OS should have the necessary drivers and software built in. When I attempt to print, I receive an error message that states Stopped-'Filter' failed, 1 page

I'm not sure whether a setting needs to be changed or whether there is a file or driver needed to correct this.

Since Canon hasn't updated the drivers for that model to support Catalina give this free, open-source driver a try: Gutenprint

Try resetting the printer system according to this Apple document: If you can't print from your Mac or iOS device - Apple Support.

I downloaded the Gutenprint file and I got the same error message Stopped-'Filter' failed, 1 page

FYI, the print function shows the scanner icon when attempting to print. It doesn't seem to recognize the print function of the printer. It only seems to recognize the scan function.

Thank you for the suggestion. I followed your (Apple's) instructions for re-setting the printer. It did not resolve the problem but I appreciate the advice
