Trouble charging ipad

I have an iPad that only charges when it’s completely empty or when it’s in recovery mode. When it’s turned on the charging sign won’t appear on the pad, but it connects to the computer ok. I’ve tried soft reset, hard reset, update, different adaptors and cables. Anyone know what’s wrong?

Charging iPad Pro is fully charged but when I turn it on it indicates that I need to plug in and battery symbol shows empty. The devise then switches off- despite having 100% showing top right hand

iPad not charging Ipad does not charge. Cable works on other devices. iPad indicates charging but is not, in fact, doing so. Have tried restart.

nothing helps... it’s just so wierd cus it charges right away when it’s off. So it’s connection there but when it’s on nothing happens.
