My disk drive is full and I can’t delete anything

I am unable to delete certain documents and when I try the - osstatus error 34 pops up and says that I can’t move my files to the trash or even empty my trash

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.13

My 2022macbook hard drive shows to be nearly full with ghost files?. Everytime I try moving anything to external drives I get message that the disk is full and the tASK CAN’T BE COMPLETED. In the disk utility the hard drive shows it is almost full with Idrive. But when I disconnected idrive it now shows that it has 496 GB (out of 500 available or so) of documents. I can’t move anything and really don’t think I have that much in documents…

Run Disk Utility and select First Aid to check your drive for corruption; all being well, Disk Utility will be able to fix it.
