WiFi reception is extremely poor on my iPod Touch (Gen 5). ALL other devices in the house connect well even our other ipod 7- But this iPod needs to be right next to the router to work which is not an option. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.

Try resetting iPod touch’s network settings in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Be certain you do not select Erase All Content and Settings as this will erase all of your information. It is a good idea to perform a backup of your iPod touch prior to resetting its settings.
