I saved an image from google and I just can't delete it!!

So I saved an image from google and its now on my desktop. I can move it around the screen but if I try opening it, it says the file can't be opened. When I'm trying to move it to the trash or selecting the option by right clicking, it just won't delete. I'm worried that its some sort of virus? I have no idea helpp

That's okay. Still good information to know. Especially that it confirms we're dealing with the same image.

I had no trouble at all deleting the file. Not surprising as it's just a JPEG image and the file name doesn't include any oddball characters. So the question becomes, why can't you delete it?

  1. Do you still have it displayed in Preview, or other app? You can't delete anything that's open to the system.
  2. Sometimes the Finder gets itself confused and thinks a file, folder or drive is open when it isn't. Restart the Mac and try deleting the file again.

That works. Okay, a file name as simple as ugh.jpg should not be causing such problem.

Get Info does correctly recognize the image listed in the Where from: location as a JPEG. Which, if you follow the path, is this image:

However, what doesn't make sense is the name of the file should be 281-2816570_1080p-the-weekend-wallpapaer-hd.jpg, not ugh.jpg.

Is this image the same as what ugh.jpg looks like, or is it something entirely different?
