Delay Compensation doesn't work properly, Phase issues on Parallel tracks

In the latest Logic Pro X 10.5 (And also previous versions of Logic Pro X) I've had the issue with Delay Compensation being "ON" and configured for "ALL" but even with these settings, the tracks are being delayed by a few samples the more plugins are added to the chain.

Ex.

2 Identical Tracks, one of them loaded with 5 instances of "iZotope Maximizer" and the other one is unprocessed, being played at the same time generates phase issues between each other due to one track getting delayed for a few samples.

NOTE: Assuming that the iZotope Maximizer is not altering the sound at all (No phase distortion added by the plugin or whatsoever), this CPU Consuming plugin generates latency that should be compensated by "Delay Compensation" but still the track gets delayed.

  1. This issue is not present in other DAWs
  2. This issue occurs with any plugin that generates enough Latency due to heavy processing
  3. The more plugins added to the chain makes the problem even worse
  4. I'm having this issue in a iMac 27" with Intel Core i9 9900k and 74Gb of RAM (So, is not lack of processing power)
  5. Inserting a Sample Delay plugin in the other unprocessed channel and delaying it for a few samples solves the issue, but this shouldn't be happening since "Delay Compensation" should delay all other individual tracks to compensate for the latency produced by the plugins.

I appreciate any solution to this issue since I really want to become a Logic Pro X full user focused on Mixing and Mastering but having to think about phase and not being able to fully trust the phase coherence of the tracks during Mixing stops me from doing so.

Thanks so much community!

Does it do the same thing with other latency inducing plugins? There is a chance the iZotope Maximizer is not reporting the latency to core audio correctly. Are you using the exact same AU plugin in the other DAWS, has to be AU not VST. It doesn't matter whether the plugin is altering the audio, once it's inserted it's reporting latency to Logic/core-audio

You are not using Logic's Low Latency Mode, correct? It should be off.

In Logic's preferences/Audio set Multithreading to "Playback Tracks", set Logic's Plugin compensation to "Audio and Software Instrument Tracks. Quit Logic, reboot the computer, try the test again.
