Apple TV app for roku: display is zoomed in

Running Apple TV app on roku ultra.

The Apple TV app used to work fine on my roku, now when I go into the app the main screen & menus is zoomed in so it's too large to see the whole page. When I select a movie or show, it displays fine; only the Apple TV screens, menus, and screensaver are too large for the screen.

* I've checked that the roku software & the Apple TV app are all updated.

* I've restarted the roku a couple of times

* I've deleted the Apple TV app and re-installed it.

* I've tried changing the display mode (aspect ratio) on my TV.

None of those things solved the problem. Help!

This happened to me which is why i found this thread.

This worked for me, hopefully it works for you.

Somehow my settings on the Roku got set for 720, when i switched them to 1080P the resolution on the apple + app fixed itself.

I DO NOT see the answer/solution to the question that is being asked!

Hopefully Apple might see this and investigate. I contact Roku and they said that Apple updates the application, not Roku, and was subsequently directed here.

What is being said here is that the LANDING SCREEN, MAIN MENUS, OPTION SCREENS are scaling to a higher resolution. From what I can tell this higher resolution is indeed 1080p (I verified this by connecting to a 1080p monitor). Other Roku applications (i.e. Disney+, Hulu, Netflix) work properly in 720p.

The desired video resolution in question is that the EndUser (the one asking the question) wants is 720p, not 1080p!

I also tried the following:

Checked that the Roku Software and Apple TV software is on the latest versions

Restarted the Roku Streaming Stick + several times

Deleted the Apple TV application from Roku and re-installed it at least 2X

Here are some screenshots to better illustrate the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I'm sure to all here who have asked the question(s).

I have the same issue: it seems that the Apple TV app is scaling for an higher resolution the landing screen, the main menus, the options menus, the login-scree and even the subtitles. I am using a Roku TV Stick Ultra and a 720p TV.

In the settings of the Roku the resolution has beer correctly auto-detected as 720p, and the rest of the apps (Disney+, Netflix among others) work fine

Again, the question/issue is that the desired resolution is 720p, not 1080p- We know it works in 1080p... As stated, the problem is only occurring at the main menu screen and options, etc. Video plays fine (if you can select it). And other Roku apps such as Netflix and Hulu work fine at 720p. As far as I can tell it's an issue with the Apple TV app for Roku...

You are correct! I just posted the same issue. Just found this thread. Same issue. Has nothing to do with 1080P. I have a 2009 Insignia which does not support 1080P! Frustrating that it only happens with Apple TV. All other streaming channels work flawlessly. Pic one enlarged. Cant access libarry. Pic 2 normal which is on my other 4 roku's thankfully.

@DocX36 my TV is only 720 also, but I tried switching to auto detect, which said my HDMI is capable of 1080 (which is true, even though my TV isn't} and it worked and everything looks right. I was just testing to see what happened, because like you I thought there wasn't an answer. But it seems to be the answer, it just wasn't clarified for those of us without 1080 TVs.
