Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I'm trying to do Security Update 2020-003 10.14.6.
1) System Preferences
2) Software Update
3) Update Now
4) I get the popup "Some Updates need to finish downloading before they are installed."
5) Click Download & Restart
Error Message reads: Network Connection was lost
I am connected to the network, but I don't know what is the problem.

Always best to have your mac connected to your router via cable rather than WiFi. If WiFi is your only choice move your mac as close to the router as possible. Make sure any other devices that share the same internet connection are not being used while the mac is downloading. Do not use the mac while it is downloading.
Try downloading the standalone update from here,
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2042?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Once downloaded double-click to install.

Thank you @Eau Rouge. I did try connecting to my router via a cable and still got the same error.
It ended up being a malware issue. It was resolved and I was able to download and install the update.
