export mp3 to pc without internet

I am a radio journalist and have a slight workflow problem.

I record features with iphone+microphone in any format (preferrably mp3)

When i am on assignment in countries where there is no affordable internet (like israel, china ... and others where roaming costs are enourmous) i need to export like 7 or 8 50 mb files for editing on my laptop.

I work for a big radio company (like 5000 employees) and our laptops are locked.. no itunes etc without admin rights.. and we dont get autorisation to install anything on our laptops, except what IT installs.

So i found a way to do it which is imho the wrong way, but it works.

I use an app called documents, i rename the xxx.mp3 to xxx.jpg and transfer it to albums..

from there i can grab it from the dcim folder.. and put it on my desktop.. i rename it again as xxx.mp3 and voila.

But i hate doing this.. There must be a more elegant way...

but for the moment its this , bringing the big and heavy roland recording device with me.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

Eureka... i found the solution !!!!!

it is in fact easy...

i copy the mp3 file to the files folder on the iphone.

then i got myself a "lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter" from the Apple shop.

The adapter goes into the lightning plug on the phone.. it has its own lightning plug that needs a power supply.

and... it has a usb plug.

i stuck a fat32 formated usb stick into it.. and now i can copy from the file folder right to the stick.. and ofcourse the stick works on the pc...

I had one little difficulty at the beginning, it was telling me i cant use the adapter because the stick needed too much power, but i then did a software update for the accessory and now it works great..

thank you all for your input and ideas..

but the guy at the Apple shop down town was the best..

@LACAllen Normally this would be a solution, but for us there is one problem.. We so not have our own computers... we have interchangeble workspaces.. so on monday i am sitting at this desk with computer A, on tuesday at another one.. and on wednesday I am in another office with again a different computer.. so that is why ALL computers are exactly identical.. and we have an external IT company the does the maintainance.. and changes the computer when they are broken.

Find the highest ranking non IT person in your 5000 person company. Explain to them what you have to do to deal with a the IT policy.

Somebody missed a meeting with somebody.

If not iTunes, there are likely other workable solutions for your workflow needs.

Audio production using iPhones and laptops is not new.

This assumes of course there is no other solution deployed that you simply don't like. IT can be myopic, but they also understand and react to requirements.
