I wonder if anyone can help?
Voiceover won't turn off even though box is always unchecked. I'm running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5 and the keyboard must have been accidentally touched and it is now so frustrating that it screen reads everything aloud.
Any help would be appreciated. I have already switched off and on.

We understand you are experiencing an issue with text being converted to speech.
If VoiceOver is disabled, we would recommend going to: System Preferences > Accessibility > Speech, and ensure all options are disabled.
If the issue persists, test in Safe Mode. You can learn how to do so here: How to use safe mode on your Mac.
If the issue persists, we would recommend testing in a new User Account. You can learn how to do so here: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac.
