HomeKit Secure Video Local Storage

Will there be possibility in the future to use local storage, say hard drives attached via usb on a Mac mini, to keep as much encrypted video as I can store, with or without using iCloud storage as well? Similar to how I can backup as using time machine and can have as many backups locally and encrypted as I can store. The advantages to this, I think, are obvious.

If I have more than 5 cameras and/or want to record everything from a camera on a rolling basis (like fill up an 8tb drive and once filled, keep it filled by deleting the oldest data - the more storage you have the further back in time you can go) - I have no options via HomeKit.
