Why Do they not have something with instructions and explanation in the box when they ship the phone?

Because there are frequent updates of the operating system, and new settings and new features are available.

But there is a user manual (always updated) online. Open this page and click on "Tables of Contents" on the left side:--> iPhone User Guide - Apple Support

I know how people who can’t read feel now. Some people that I know have lived 50 years without being able to read, from my observation no one had any consideration for them,sometimes making jokes. I feel the same way at work. I don’t know any of the terms, symbols or anything. I am scared to ask a question because it may win an award for the stupidest question ever asked in history! Thx for your help TV
