Capitan 10.11.6 and iOS 13.5.1

I want to keep my Mac Book Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) at OS Capitan 10.11.6. Does this mean I can never use my new iPhone SE 2020 with my Mac Book? Or is there a workaround?

You don’t need a workaround. I am running El Capitan on my late model 2011 MBP. I sync and backup my iPad Air 3, iPad Air 2 and iPhone XR all running iOS 13.5.1 with iTunes on my Mac.

These are the system requirements that I copied for iPhone SE tech specs.

  • Apple ID (required for some features)
  • Internet access12
  • Syncing to a Mac or PC requires:
  • macOS Catalina 10.15 using the Finder
  • macOS El Capitan 10.11.6 through macOS Mojave 10.14.6 using iTunes 12.8 or later
  • Windows 7 or later using iTunes 12.10 or later (free download from itunes.com/download)
