Final Cut ProX & Other Players: The play function stops working after about 200 activations

Hello Folx!

I'm desperate with a very funny problem: The play (start/stop) video function in the timeline stopps working after about 200 activations. I have to restart my Mac in order to restore its functionality ... for the next 200 circles. As you can imagine, this keeps me from being productive.

The same is also true with e.g. the play function on any web browser (like when playing music from a website).

This leads me to the problem being founded somewhere in the OS...

My specs:

Mac Book Pro 2017, running Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5 (latest version as of writing this).

Final Cut ProX: 10.4.8. (latest version as of writing this)

Browsers: Chrome and Safari, also latest versions....

What I have already tried:

  • Hardware Check by an Apple dealer: Everything OK, no findings
  • I have resettet the Cache
  • I have restarted and rebooted
  • I have re-installed the MAC OS (but not FCPX, this was restored - Problem persists)

I don't want to re-install Final Cut as this would be a great hassle with my running projects and I also don't think that this will solve the problem, as I can create thesame when starting/stopping music files in the web browser.

MAC SUPPORT does not have an idea what the problem can be and I seem to be quite alone with this problem....

Can anybody help?

THANK YOU!

Daniel

1. Start up from macOS Recovery

To start up from macOS Recovery, turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold one of the following combinations on your keyboard. Command-R is generally recommended, especially if you never installed macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later… https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904#notupdated

Command (⌘)-R

Install the latest macOS that was installed on your Mac.

For destination you'd select a newly MacOS Extended Journaled Format external drive.

You can save us asking dozens of questions by submitting a report from this App for us to look at…

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
