Transfer apps to new MBP
I only want to transfer my chosen apps to my new MBP coming next week. Migrating transfers everything.. every bit of junk and left overs. Is there a way? Or do the software companies handle it?
MacBook Pro 15”, macOS 10.15

It depends on the app. Many apps come as a .dmg file and the 'installation' is simply copying the app from the mounted volume to the applications folder – in those cases, copying the app is just fine. Other apps have an actual installer, and those should be re-installed on the new hardware.
FWIW, I would not copy apps to new hardware, I would install the apps on the new hardware.
