iMac 2015 poor performance from the start

Was there any known issues with the 2015 iMac?

Mine never really was usable. It is slow and sluggish. The rainbow wheel takes off the minute you look at it and I can spend hours watching the cursor swirl.

It's often just been left in the original box because of frustration.

I have noting on it, everything is in the cloud or on a hard drive.

I bought it the same time as the infamous MacBook 2015 with the dodgy keyboard.

I've been on to support since day one and nothing ever has been found or resolved and I just feel fobbed off.

Any one with experience of this model.

Thank you in advance

Your report indicates the HD may be failing, I saw that in:

Failing hard drive - This machine has a hard drive that appears to be failing.

I would recommend doing the following. First ensure you have a valid Time Machine backup and even better create a clone of your internal HD using either SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner.

Buy a high quality USB 3.1 SSD and then format it for your Mac and then clone the internal HD to the new SSD. Then use the SSD as your boot drive. This should speed up performance considerably.

If it is a base model 21.5" iMac with 8GB of RAM and 5400 RPM HD those machines are only intended for email and surfing the web and nothing else really. However without any useful information about your system and what is installed it is tough to help you out. I would recommend the following:

Please navigate to the Mac App Store and download the free version of EtreCheck OR please click www.EtreCheck.com where you will find the app. Once you have downloaded the free app and created the report please post it as your reply to this message. In order to post it, please use the following link for more detailed instructions on how to correctly include the results:

We can then look for obvious issues that may be causing your problem.
