Seeing a speaker named "Bedroom" as an audio output. It is not my speaker.

I'm seeing the option to switch my music/audio over to a speaker labeled as "Bedroom", however I do not have any external speakers. My bluetooth is off, I have no devices nor an account under the "Home" app. I also have airplay/carplay/handoff turned off. When I click on this device, it takes me to ITunes (where I do not have a subscription) and I am able to see the album/playlist. I would like to know how to remove this as an audio output option. (Side note, this option only showed up after I upgraded to iOS 13.4.1) Please do let me know :)

Any Suspicious Device?:

“Bedroom” is assigned to my Apple TV by default. So log in to your Apple ID and then view or remove your associated devices. Does anything look unfamiliar/suspicious.

It would have a name on the device when you view the list. See if anything in there is named: “Bedroom”.

Just checked the list, only my phone is on there, nothing labeled as "Bedroom". This is honestly the strangest thing, I have zero idea where this speaker came from.

Use: “Forget the Device”

Maybe, just maybe, Bluetooth was enabled and you forgot doing so. So, reenable Bluetooth, and then Rid of it from your devices.

  1. Enable: Bluetooth
  2. Click: Blue Circle far right of device name
  3. Click: Forget this Device

A Few Thoughts:

  • Control Panel is on Windows. So, have you connected it to your PC recently? If so, it may have been added through that. I do not use a Windows PC, so, I would not know if adding it is an option.

  • Did you lend the phone to someone? If so, maybe they added it.

  • Go on the other side of town - and see if it is still seen. If not, perhaps it is a neighbor’s device.

[...]Even when I am out and about (on a walk with music via wired headphones) I still see that speaker as an option.

That Brings Up my Next suggestions:

Being Hardwired:

  • Plug in to Another Device:

Plug these wired headphones into another device - see if they are seen as the same.

Contact the Manufacturer:

I would recommend you contact the manufacturer of these headphones. Ask them if this is a known bug of the headphones: Their interactivity with your iPhones is what may be getting in the way.
