Airdrop and VPN

Not a question, an FYI. Posting because I didn't see any quick answers when I searched for it but I finally figured it out.

If your MAC is on the same wifi network as your phone but your mac is connected to VPN your MAC won't see your iphone. Your iphone can see your mac, but can't transmit files.

I can airdrop from my mac to my iphone but not from my iphone to my mac? I can airdrop from my mac to my iphone but not from my iphone to my mac! It's worked forever and then poof! Stopped working. I am on the same wifi network, I can SEE my iphone in my mac's air drop. I have air drop set to 'everyone' in both devices. (I see my iphone messages on my mac so they are communicating there) My phone says that my pics have sent, but I don't see them in my recent or downloads folders. Any ideas?

Airdrop not working : Mac not showing on iPhone I have an iPhone 12 iOS 14.6 with Wifi and Bluetooth enabled and "everyone" selected in AirDrop. I have a Macbook pro M1 2020 iOS Monterey 12.5 on same wifi network, bluetooth enabled and "everyone" selected in AirDrop. Firewall is also turned off. On the Mac I can see the iPhone in AirDrop, but I cannot see the Mac on the phone. Why and how do I fix it ?! I tried disabling and enabling everything possible, but to no avail - the Macbook simply does not want to show up on the iPhone...
