Why is my Apple TV light flashing on and off? How do I fix it?

Was working find until yesterday when the white light constantly is flashing on and off. Turned everything including tv, apple tv, power off...waited returned on.

Cannot use the remote at all?

What has changed in the last day please?

We cannot reset it, because we cannot use the remote as the light keeps flashing! Very frustrated.

Disconnect from power. Wait a few minutes, then connect to power again. Does it start up correctly now?
