Battery not charging when plugged in after upgrading to mac os x catalina 10.15.5
Hi,
Running on mac os x catalina 10.15.5 on macbook pro 13” (mid-2012)
I have been having issue with my battery not charging when plugged in ever since I upgraded to mac os x catalina 10.15.5 a few weeks back. The charging cable led indicator stays on green instead of orange while my battery stays on 1% when plugged in.
Tried on reinstalling mac os x catalina 10.15.5 twice to unavailable. Tried resetting smc, pram, and nvram as well but the problem persists.
Finally did a check on hardware issues and it came back as:
First attempt,
‘battery not detected’ — PPT001
Continued on to disconnect and reconnect the adaptor from the power supply and the macbook
Power off and turned it back on
Second attempt,
’the battery may not be charging correctly’ — PPP003
’the battery requires service’ — PPT006
Battery cycle is close to 450 out of 1000 I just checked
Oh, and there are also weird vertical lines showing up on my external
monitor connected to macbook with thunderbolt. It wasn’t there when it was on landscape view but suddenly showing up when I changed it to portrait view. I wonder if this issue is also related to the battery issue that I’m having ever since I upgraded to mac os x catalina 10.15.5
Does anyone else having the same issues as me? Tips and tricks are much appreciated. Thank you.
