My Macbook Pro 13-inch 2020 speakers keep randomly crackling and distorting sound when played from Spotify, Youtube etc.. Restarting fixes it but it's happened twice in less than a week of me owning it. Seems to be happening when I open it, once first thing in the morning and just now at night after using it periodically throughout the day. I don't understand.

My advice? Return it to the retailer you purchased from and get a replacement. That's what I did and my replacement MacBook Pro does not have this issue.

Yes, same think happened to me, I can't reproduce issue constantly. It happened on some YouTube videos, podcasts or zoom meetings. I can't hear problem when playing music.

This is certainly a software issue, the thing is that if Apple engineers can't reproduce it, it will most likely never get fixed, unless it starts to be a widespread issue.
