Deleting birthdays from iCalendar

I deleted a contact but their birthday still shows up in iCalendar, on both my iPhone and iPad but not my desktop. How can I delete the birthday from all my devices?

Hi Sterling r,

Many thanks for your help. I’m not using any other accounts to manage my contacts and calendars which is why I couldn’t figure out what the issue is, but your link to the section about turning off calendars and contacts and then turning them back on seems to have worked!
