UPS might have lost, damage, or stolen my package so what happens next after the investigation?

I had recently order a Macbook Pro 16" back in June 26, 2020 and everything was proceeding smoothly until July 8th where my package has been stuck at a local UPS facility and there has been no further updates since then.

UPS tracking system would not provided further information, they would never answer any calls even during thier listed working hours no matter how long I waited on hold, and their customer support was a joke as no one knew what the issue was regarding them not shipping the package out when reached out via email or via thier Twitter support page which I'm convinced might just be an AI restating the same information thier track page has.

I contacted Apple Support via email and chat and they currently suppose have an investigation going on as of the 14th and I am to hear something within 9 days but my question is in the likelihood that the package is lost, damage, or even stolen what measures can Apple take form here?

If they offer to reship another MacBook will I still have to relay on UPS as a carrier once again or could I opt out for them to ship it via Fed Ex? I understand times are hard with Covid-19 but every other package I have order has made it to me without any issues including ones via UPS so I am very suspicious oh how they've handled this very expensive shipment.

Yeah starting to look that way, I had checked with Apple Support via Twitter since the online support assistant on this site's messenger only directed me to the forums when questioned about it. The Twitter support said I would have to get in contact with an Apple Specialized Advisor but they seem to be already prepping another laptop replacement to cover for the one that went missing via UPS. Investigation started on the 14th and by the 20th they started the replacement order but haven't seen any further updates on shipping so I'm assuming its going to be UPS again. I'm assuming since they have a second being made for me they must've gotten word its missing damage or stolen.
