MacBookAir

I am trying to connect an external DVD drive to a new MacBookAir (Retina,13-Zoll,2020). The external drive commes with an usb cable. I use an USB-to-USB-c adapter to connect the external drive to the mac. With my MacBookPro this works fine, but it does not work with the MacBookAir. The external drive does receive some power from the mac, but maybe not enough. The external drive does not show up in finder or elsewhere on the MacBookPro. I already tried a different external drive, with the same outcome.

Hi,

You need to use self powered USB Hub for external DVD drive.
