Granting access to google chrome

Hello, I'm trying to take a test online that requires me to give camera and microphone access to google chrome. I went to system preferences, and checked the boxes that should've granted permission to the application; however, it's still not working. Could anyone help me?

Hey apple_newbie_,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you're running into an issue granting permission for camera and microphone access to Google Chrome. We're happy to provide some information to help.

It sounds like you're already well aware of how to change those permissions. Just to make sure no steps are missed, check out how to change those preferences here: Change Privacy preferences on Mac

If you're still unable to use the camera and microphone with Google Chrome, try restarting your Mac: How to turn your Mac on or off

Lastly, if you can grant access to other apps to use your camera and microphone and that works as expected, reach out to Google support for further assistance: Google Chrome Help

Thanks again, and have a great day!
