Trouble with Canon Raw .crm file

FCPX 10.4.8

I have a Canon Raw .crm file as source.

I downloaded and installed Canon Raw Plug In 1.3 for FXP-X, restarted computer.

Using the import command, I can locate and select the .crm file for import, but the preview window only shows a purple screen.

If I import the file, I get the audio but only a solid purple screen for video.

This same file imports and displays correctly in Premiere on the same computer.

Can you give me any guidance to make this file work in FCP-X?

it depends on the specifics of the Canon RAW. You might try Edit Ready to convert the files.

Thanks for responding.

What would you suggest to transcode it to that will preserve the "raw" file qualities for the purpose of color correction?

I can do the transcode in Adobe Media Encoder, as well.

OK, Tom, got a couple of short clips into FCP-X, all good.

The PR4444 files are even larger than the .crm files.

I did some quick tests with Codex Color Synth and looks like this is the way to go.

OK, doing a transcode to ProRes4444.

The source files are huge, about 3 gigs/sec so this may take a bit.

3 gigs is around 10 seconds -

Edit Ready can’t do it anyway. At least not the .crm I have. Any chance I could have a look at the file? Dropbox?
