Target Disk Mode not working

My MacBook Pro w Touch Bar is having display issues. I am trying to boot it in Target Disk using another MBP. I have connected via a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. I believe the damaged MBP is starting in Target disk, but it does not show up on the host Mac.

i have checked disk utility and desktop settings. No disk mounting.
