iOS 13.6 update ruined my iPhone 8+

• instantly began running hot

• randomly locked out of my own login passcode and fingerprint

• randomly locked out of iCloud Keychain

• Apple Music reverted to old outdated library and will not accept new ❤️s or library additions and I can’t delete this old useless library either

• MASSIVE battery drain!

• touchscreen and back cover beginning to separate from phone chassis along all 4 edges, feels loose and touchscreen itself no longer reacting properly to touch commands or keyboard entries

• randomly flipflops dark mode on/off by itself when switching between open Safari tabs - even if all those sites configured to light mode

• touchscreen rattles when playing audio from any source

• randomly turns Find My Phone on/off without my authority or passcode entry by me

...is any of this familiar to others? Anyone have workarounds? I’ve performed endless restores and all available Apple tutorials. Impossible to get a support call answered or a reply on Apple twitter— HELP!!! Thank you.

A software update (even one that hasn't worked very well) hasn't caused your phone to start falling to pieces. Sounds like most of the issues are caused by the phone having suffered some sort of trauma, or there's a problem with the battery expanding (which can happen sometimes). You need to get it checked out by Apple and consider not using it until you have.

Thank you. I pinned it all to the day I installed the update because the first thing i noticed was the keyboard miss strokes and the constant heat, then battery drain. I’ve tried setting up a store appointment but the chat representative insisted I needed a replacement. A little too convenient since thus iPhone’s Apple Care expired in April. So I’m stuck staying with Apple for $1,000+++ or switching. Honestly, I’d like Apple a lot more if they were less irritating about pushing new products vs providing software maintenance that actually worked. Playing update catch up won’t catch my $1,000. So, I’ll decide on this ASAP. Thanks again.

...also as you might see, now the autocorrect keeps substituting “thus” for “this” - and other silly stuff like always capitalizing “May” when “may” is the word needed in context. Numerous keyboard resets fail to resolve that. I even tried an impromptu workaround by substituting the English keyboard with another random language then restarting the phone, and then restoring the English keyboard. Didn't work. This chip is fried.
