Disagreement between logic tempo clock and other devices

When recording in audio from external devices (drum machine, phone apps etc) there is always an apparent difference between the tempos logic and the device, even though they are set at the same tempo. The recorded audio always ends up being at a slightly faster tempo. This is the same for multiple other devices, so I presume its an issue with Logic's tempo clock. This is without using midi connection, but if I line up the transients so that they are in time at the start the audio becomes gradually more out of time with the grid. Thanks.

BPM can be an objective measure of time when you have only one reference for it. With many unsynchronized devices you have many references. Many clocks if you prefer. No consumer device provides a precise measure of time. That why external synchronization exist.

What you experience is the typical time drift problem. Nothing specific to Logic or audio.

Keep your devices connected so they can sync with Logic.
