macbook pro 2020 touch id problem

I just bought my MacBook Pro 2020 13 inches

I did set my fingerprint on it but it is not working when I switch it on

can you please help me for this

If you shut down or reboot you need to enter your password. If you just close the lid (sleep) TouchID works.

Has anyone ran into issues with Touch ID setup on the new macBook pro with apple silicone? Either the Touch ID or the fingerprint sensor is not working, I have not been able to complete Touch ID setup. It worked during the initial setup. I was able to unlock the computer using my fingerprint. After the initial session was suspended, I can no longer use Touch ID to unlock the computer. I erased the old fingerprint from the initial setup and tried to add a new one, the key didn't even register my fingerprint. I am beginning to think that there is a defect with the new computer.

It’s by design, for security reasons. Same way an iPhone needs the password not Face/Touch when it restarts, or every 6 days. There’s no ‘fix’ it’s operating as designed.
