Recording audio plays back detuned and out of sync

Hello,

Using a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015), Catalina, 10.15.5, and Logic Pro X 10.5.1, with Presonus audiobox usb 96. Both universal control and logic set to 44.1 ... already updated universal control and audiobox.

When I record audio, most of the time it is playing it back detuned, and slightly late. I have never had this problem before.

When I use the audiobox 96 as the output, it hiccups and stutters. When I go headphones out of computer built in audio, it is smooth playing.

This is on plain channel strips.

Any ideas?

Make sure the audiobox is set to internal clock, probably in universal control. Logic should automatically sync to the sample rate of the audio interface. Both Input/Output device set to the audiobox. I/O Buffer to 128.
