502 Bad Gateway

I keep getting this message : and the only way to clear it is to reboot

502 Bad Gateway

TlsProtocolException("Cannot establish TLS with 216.58.205.35:443 (sni: www.google.co.uk): TlsException('Cannot load trusted certificates (/tmp/_MEINyyZkY/certifi/cacert.pem, None).',)",)

Hi richard106,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Apple Support Communities and providing us with the opportunity to assist. Does this message appear every time you open Safari, or only when you try to visit a particular website? If the error message goes away after restarting the Mac, that may mean there is something being removed from the cache during the restart process.

When you have a free moment, the steps in this resource may help resolve the problem:

If you can’t open a website in Safari on Mac

Let us know how things go, or if you run into problems with any of the steps.

Hi Richard,

You're welcome! We appreciate you sending these additional details over. When you're unable to connect to the websites, is your Mac connected to a VPN, or a private network in your home? If connected to a private network, have you noticed whether it happens with multiple networks?

If you're unable to test with multiple networks, using a different web browser may help us further isolate the problem as well.

We look forward to learning the results.

Take care!
