Garage Band Recording

I would like to record on garage band using my AirPods. I have the input for garage band selected as my AirPods, but when I go to record, it says "no input selected". I don't know what to do to fix this problem so I can't record. What should I do?

Logic Pro 10.6 won't record AirPod Pros as input source This is weird, because System recognizes AirPod Pros as audio input and output. Logic Pro 10.6 also recognizes that in Preferences=>Audio. When I create a new track in Logic Pro, and select "Audio=>Input 1", the program recognizes AirPods Pro as the input Device. Similarly it recognizes AirPods Pro as the Output Device. However when I press Record, I get a message that says "No Input Source Selected." Keep in mind the preferences still say AirPod Pros are the input. On the flip side, Logic Pro records perfectly if I choose the MacBook microphone and speakers as the inputs and outputs - even when AirPod Pros are the System's inputs and outputs. Frankly I don't understand why AirPod Pros won't work if they are the selected input source in the system and in the program. They work as sources in other programs, but not LogicPro. AirPods Pro microphone distorted on Mac First: there is a very similar post here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251776613?login=true However, the answers there were not helpful in my case. My AirPods Pro work perfectly fine with my iPhone and iPad. But when I e.g. record a voice memo on my MacBook Pro, the recording sounds very distorted/robotic and the same happens in video calls with different tools. The air pods are up to date and I've reset them and updated my mac to the latest software. The fact that the AirPods Pro work on my iPhone would also suggest that there is not hardware problem and the fact that it happens for voice recording as well would rule out internet connection issues. So I'm curious, is this a macOS issue and is this already known?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

From reading your post, it sounds as your are attempting to record in GarageBand using the microphones from your AirPods, correct? We're here to help you take a look in to that!

That's great your making music! You have attempted setting the microphones input in Garageband to the settings. Have you attempting changing the input in the System Preferences on the Mac:

Change the sound input settings on Mac
